A hot topic these days centers around eyelash extensions. Are they safe? Will they damage my natural lashes? Is the cost worth it? We have heard every question imaginable from our clients, regarding eyelash extensions. We will break it down for you, and hopefully answer any questions you might have.
WILL THEY DAMAGE MY NATURAL LASHES?
This question is the most commonly asked. It’s a tricky one to answer sometimes. What is the natural condition of your lashes? This is very important. Your natural lashes must be strong to support any eyelash extension, but there are options for those that do not have the strongest of lashes. We carry all weights of lashes. They range from C.15 (the heaviest we allow) to C.03, the lightest. Weight is very important. If a lash artist places an eyelash extension that is too heavy on a natural lash that is not strong, it will break that natural lash very easily. The lighter eyelash extensions do not place a strain on your natural lashes. It is important to have this kind of conversation with your lash artist. The health of our clients natural lashes is of the utmost importance to us.
IF I DO A MIX OR VOLUME, IT WILL LOOK FAKE
No. It’s a common misconception that volume might be too much, or look too fake. Not the case. We use the lightest lash available to create our fans. They tend to create a more “fluffy” and slightly wispy, thicker look, but do not look like strip lashes. We have plenty of clients that love a full and thick look, and it looks beautiful. That is definitely not for everyone! We can design your eyelash extensions exactly as you want. The best part is, we can change that later, during fills if you decide you do want a longer/fuller look.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED MAINTENANCE?
Most clients see us on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Some are able to go three weeks and on rare occasions, four. Usually the 3-4 week eyelash extension fill clients, sleep on their back. Bad news for you ladies that are side sleepers. Most of us are. Lashes tend to get thrashed when we sleep on our stomachs or sides. We purposely keep our prices low, understanding the maintenance of great eyelash extensions.
IS IT TRULY WORTH IT?
Everyone is different. There is something amazing about waking up every morning and applying no makeup because you already look amazing. Most of our clients rave about how much time they save getting ready for work. On the other hand, the bi-weekly maintenance is too much. That is okay. Eyelash Extensions are not for everyone. It’s up to each individual to decide.
